We have an Austin, TX client with an immediate need for a Citrix/VMware/EMC Solutions Architect. This is a salaried position with a dynamic technology company working out of their North Austin office. The pay range for this position is $80k-$110k (possibly more for the perfect candidate) plus benefits. Limited relocation assistance is available. The client is not considering h1b transfers at the point. 50% travel is required.

The Solution Architect will provide selling capabilities and technical expertise to translate business requirements into specific enterprise software systems or applications (specializing in virtualization and storage). The solution architect will act as the technical authority on architecture design during the sales and deployment phases of the implementation. The role will demand a well-rounded individual with an impressive technical foundation as well as a proven history of successful interaction with customers in a sales and implementation context. While the job should typically demand an average of 50% time spent in travel, during critical points in an installation more travel may be required (up to 75%).

To be a fit, you'll need to match the following requirements:
- 2+ years experience as a consultant planning and deploying complex technology solutions using virtualization technologies (Citrix and VMware specifically). Experience with EMC would be a big plus. Experience with state and local government preferred.
- Thorough understanding of virtualization technologies (Citrix, VMware). You will be hands on as needed although this will not be your primary duty.
- Experience in enterprise application deployment architectures, environments and concerns (scalability, performance, availability, reliability, security etc.)
- Knowledge of database architectures, SQL and ability to interpret entity-relationship diagrams and other relational specifications
- Broad experience with TCP/IP networking, routing, web services, file and print technologies, network devices (caching, storage and other dedicated devices), Windows, UNIX, Citrix, Oracle, SQL Server, storage area networks
- Proficient in project management processes and tools
- A bachelor's degree is required. Major in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another technical discipline such as Engineering strongly preferred; or equivalent experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support Regional Sales Manager in delivering presentations and product demonstrations.
- Assist with the completion of technical questions on RFPs and ensure that the technology is positioned well within the client organization.
- Work with channel partners and OEM vendors in multiple areas to formulate an integrated solution to Client process requirements.
- Assess product fit for the Client’s architecture and needs.
- Consult with management and review project proposals to determine scope, time frame, methods, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources to accomplish project.
- Actively engage in the post-sales period to promptly transition to implementation.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
- Manage relations with software architects, developers, operational personnel and technology leadership (CTO, CIO, Directors etc.) within Client organizations.
- Provide assistance to Client with installation, integration and tuning of the integrated solution, including system test and go-live.
- Provide technical training to clients with accompanying user and systems documentation; provide training/mentoring of junior level personnel in complexities of applications and technologies.
- Maintain working knowledge of applications, products, and services from an end user perspective.
- Provide feedback on product features and priorities to the sales & marketing teams.
- May assist in the development of project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources, as well as coordination of the planning, scheduling and on-time delivery of product solutions that meet Client functional requirements and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with project management and manager of professional services to enhance the tools, templates, and techniques used for service delivery.
