We have a Houston client with an immediate need for a SAP Functional/Technical Analyst. This is a salaried position with a global supplier of petrochemicals, plastics and fabricated products working out of their Galleria-area office. The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $110,000k plus benefits.

The tires we ride on, the plastic wrap that keeps our meats and produce fresh, the pipes that are essential to ensuring clean water, the frames that secure our windows and doors, they play a vital role in supplying the building blocks for these products and many more.

Your responsibilties would include:
The IS Functional Analysts role is to support the operations of the organization’s SAP System and other associated Business Software Applications. Specific responsibilities include the support of the SAP Sales and Distribution System and Related Applications consisting of the installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of the company’s investments in proprietary SAP technologies. The IS Functional Analyst is also responsible for the planning and coordination of the processes required for application change management, application security and controls, and the provision of enhancements and new applications necessary for business operations. This includes providing functional (subject matter) expertise with regards to content, processes, and procedures with Sales and Distribution applications suited for meeting the current and future needs of business units. Provide guidance concerning the business implications regarding various system options when changing or adding functionality. Assist users in identifying needs as business expert.
The IS Functional Analyst will also have responsibility for day-to-day procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of SAP and related application problem tickets, including the monitoring, tracking, coordination and resolution of SAP support tickets. The IS Functional Analyst will contribute to problem resolution by giving in-person, hands-on support. Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the Business Units and SAP Application Support Team on issues related to the design, development, and support of mission-critical information and business applications.

To be a fit, you'll need to match the following requirements:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 10 years equivalent work experience.
- Possess 5+ years of SAP Application development experience.
- SAP functional competencies in two or more of Financials, Controlling, Plant Maintenance, and Materials Management.
- Additional experience in SAP Business Warehouse or Web Publishing and Document Management is a major plus for this candidate.
- Hands-on experience with SAP version 4.0 or greater. Experience with SAP 4.6 or 5.0 preferred.
- Possess basic technical skills in SAP development tools, interfaces methods and protocols.
- Experience with SAP configuration methods, tools and techniques. Knowledge of ASAP methodology preferred.
- Strong understanding of IS Application support and development principles, and practices.
- Experience with business process analysis methods and flowcharting and documenting techniques.
- Project management experience.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
